I am one of the Health Science Teachers and will be teaching Nursing Education, Medical Therapeutics, and Anatomy and Physiology. This will be my second year teaching at CCHS. I am also a HOSA advisor. I have been a nurse for almost 24 years. I started out as a CNA, then an LPN, then decided to go back to school to further my career as an RN. I have experience in a long-term care setting as a certified nursing assistant, an LPN, and an RN MDS Coordinator; CCU; RN Physician Extender at Jackson Clinic Cardiology , and Jackson Clinic Endoscopy Lab. I love working with people and I became interested in the healthcare field when I was in high school because I had a desire to be able to help people. I have 1 daughter named Malea, who is a student here at CCHS. She will be a Junior this year and she keeps me extremely busy with high school volleyball & softball, as well as travel volleyball & softball! Malea is also a member of HOSA, and will be the HOSA Vice-President for the 2020-2021 school year, in addition to being a Regional & State Competitor in Forensic Science/Medicine her Freshman year!
I am so excited to hear of your interest in the medical field, and I’m looking forward to working with you this year. Health Science lays a great foundation for all health science courses, college courses, and what it takes to become a successful health care worker. It’s a great opportunity for you to learn early on about options for your future in an area that interests you!
Please refer to the attached syllabus for a detailed description of your course, course requirements, and expectations.
If you have any questions at all about the class, please feel free to e-mail me at the above address or call the school office.
Once again, I am looking forward to working with you!
